As a self-taught painter, Issa de Nicola’s approach to painting is one of openness to the mystery
and creative energy present in each moment. Steeped in color, light and mood, his paintings
represent a diverse range of style and emotion. Some are soothing and meditative, others flamboyant,
with rhythm and movement resulting in a level of skill and originality worthy of the most discriminating
art collector. Issa feels that a warm heart, with kindness and respect towards others and the environment
are keys to sustainable, peaceful coexistence.
A few of Issa de Nicola’s honors include being selected for the 2002 New Mexico Magazine Distinguished Artists Calendar; as an “Artist to Watch” by Southwest Art Magazine; “Best of Show” in the 2003 Taos Solar Arts Festival; and 2007 Poster Artist for Casa de Corazon in Taos, New Mexico. |
